Overview
MonCurse is a 2D turn-based RPG for players who want corruption fantasy with a monster-girl focus. The tone is explicit and playful, never grim.
Story
Nothing in this world stays sacred, or stays the same shape. The player travels through a monster-girl-infested overworld where every fight carries the risk of hypnosis, possession, or a curse taking hold, each one reshaping who they are and how they live.
Gameplay
Movement across the overworld and combat both run on turns, letting players set their own pace. Each monster-girl enemy has a distinct personality that interferes with the player's moveset, so skills double as tools for tricky platforming jumps and as attacks in battle. Losing a fight does not end the run outright; it applies monstrous traits and conditions that alter the character going forward, for better or worse.
Features
- Fully illustrated corruption scenes tied to specific enemies and outcomes
- Multiple endings shaped by which transformations and traits take hold
- Gender-bender and futa/trans elements woven into the transformation system
- Side-scrolling platformer sections layered onto the turn-based combat
Changelog
v0.7.1.2.0
- Servants with tails, including polymorphed player, have a new scene:
- Against the player, player must be stripped first.
- Triggers from "Picket" hitting a valid target and replaces their damage.
- Needs either FUTAENEMY or FUTAPLAYER enabled. If the target is out of range (should rarely happen), it'll fail.
- Works on: Player-futa, player-lamia-futa, polymorph-servant-futa, polymorph-lamia-futa, enemy-servant-futa, elite-lamia-futa.
- It has a health drain effect kind of like ram's kiss.
- Has an entry in the gallery, along with sarcophagus now appearing in the gallery if you unlock it.
- Visuals added (sandy hills, ruins, oasis). Doesn't do anything yet, but we're getting there.
- Enemies now visible on the overworld. Enemy generation is now similar to RouteA11, so proximity to enemies matters.
- RouteA11 also has the werewolf and harpies show, but this doesn't affect anything (except 2 harpies on harpy's tile)
- Servant's big and small arts are now fully rendered.
- Player has a new expression, specifically for elf-ears corruption.
- The elf-ears item now won't appear if you have wolf/fox/cat ears, because it otherwise overwrites both tail and ears.
- Big nerf to lamia health -- Now 3/5 instead of 5/6.
- Stripped enemies now have a universal accuracy down debuff. Currently a flat -35% reduction in their chances of getting the player's position exactly right, as opposed to a random square near the player. It can be quite noticable, because this is a 2x ~ 3x increase in how often they mess up. Snakebite inflicts some more stacks so it's more reliable.
- Bust rings now have an effect: Generates milk when taking damage from scenes.
- Added SFX for Drill, Shockwave-II, Picket, Baton, Snakebite, polymorphing and maybe something else I forgot.
- Added a new skill, "Milky Cannon", part of Cow class base set. Gains range with milk stacks but consumes a portion of them.
- Targets are now highlighted when previewing a skill's attacks. Differs based on damage and if it's heavy or not. Also slight effect if the skill you're holding will reactivate, and an icon for milk-based skills (overdrive and milky cannon)
- Health orbs are now colored based on their source.
- Picket now strips for 2.
- Cat tail beads have been changed again. It no longer occurs when hitting 0 HP, instead cat-girl corruption can cause it to apply, same as how it works in 0-3.
- Enemy lamias now fall two spaces a turn. Can they technically sail into the sky? Yes, but I trust that they won't. Also, they have smoother movement visuals now.
- Quadbust gives you a second copy of milk-icon skills, which right now is only Milky cannon.
- Nerfed "worship" action down to 1 'embrace' damage instead of 2. It already allows you to bypass lamia tail resistance.
- Patched in 0.7.1.1: Player-imp can no longer grab ghosts. Fixed player's temporary name not resetting after enemy polymorph. Harpy doesn't misbehave when you grab onto her. Added harpy conversion lines to servant/lamia. Fixed wolflegs/imps interacting weirdly with polymorph. Werewolf's collar is now reversible. Fixed imp grab not forcing imp movement on specific RUN moves. Ram-polymorph can Draining Kiss hypnotized enemies. Lamia won't tailsweep you when you're already in peril... Usually. Fixed issue where quad-bust might've not been possible on the first patch.
- Fixed elite ghostfox making you greener than you should be.
- Fixed a bit of fuschia fabric appearing on dick despite having fox croptop.
- Fixed jankiness when destroying rams' house.
- Player no longer flirts with the ghost in the graveyard.
- Fixed "reseteffect" not being tied to SFX sound channel.
- Lamia offset fixed (previously hijacking player's offset) and they no longer constantly run that line of code.
- Four directional diagonal moves now preview properly from the hotbar.
- Enemies that lose to sweet damage (and now bitter damage too) fall once before becoming inactive.
- Lamia no longer drop you off at the end of their tail if you were inside the top end.
- Lamia no longer cause a lot of enemies to fade to the back, enemies have priority over lamia tail segments.
- Fixed servant cloth bottom not being stripped, it was stripping a different part instead.
- Fixed lamias sometimes not setting their tail points as attackable. Might not be 100% fixed yet, we'll see.
- Retreating now sets you to 1 HP just like leaving a stage does, if you're at 0 HP.
- Fixed belly size 5 appearing as belly size 0 in the dick-based scenes.
- Getting your clothes back while polymorphed also restores clothes to your polymorphed self.
