Overview
Snoopware is a tech-repair visual novel for players who like cozy, low-pressure sims with a voyeuristic edge. It stays warm and curious rather than dramatic, even as it pokes at other people's privacy.
Story
After losing your job, a favor for your aunt turns into the start of your own repair shop. Fixing laptops for a steady stream of customers puts their private files in your hands, and what you choose to do with what you find begins to shape the relationships you build with them.
Gameplay
Each job has you cleaning dusty hardware, troubleshooting faulty parts, and sorting through cluttered desktops to get a machine running again. Along the way you can browse folders, photos, and messages left behind, and decide whether to help a customer, confront them, stay quiet, or use what you've seen to your advantage. The repair work and the snooping are tied together, so every fixed computer doubles as a small puzzle and a peek into someone's life.
Features
- Hands-on repair and desktop puzzles built around real-feeling hardware and file systems
- Anime-style visual novel scenes layered on top of the tech-shop sim
- Branching responses to what you discover, from quiet discretion to outright confrontation
- A nostalgic, retro-desktop look to the computers you work on
