Overview

Hard Choice is a visual novel for players who like grounded romance stories with a slower, personal pace. It favors quiet drama over spectacle.

Story

After years away, the protagonist returns to his hometown to rebuild his life. Old faces and new ones fill in the gaps of what he missed, and his brother's troubles gradually pull him back into a mess he thought he'd left behind. Along the way, the women he meets each carry their own history, and getting close to them means uncovering what they'd rather keep hidden.

Gameplay

Progress moves through daily scenes and dialogue, with choices that steer how each woman responds to the protagonist over time. Decisions affect trust and closeness rather than unlocking a single fixed path, so different conversations lead to different outcomes with different characters. The pace is story-first, with exploration kept light and centered on talking to people and reacting to what they reveal.

Compared with v0.2.5, v0.3 adds 3 new playable days, around 1,300 new dialogue blocks, more than 9,500 new dialogue words, 37 choice menus, and 81 new gallery video unlocks.
Day 20 includes 3 alternative routes depending on which heroine joins the protagonist at the villa. Across these routes, the update contains almost 15 minutes of animation in total. It also introduces the first version of the combat system, adds 2 original songs, including one with its own music video, and allows some choices to lead to the protagonist’s death.
This version unlocks the final main character profile and continues expanding the relationship, story, and side character content. The game has also changed its name from Hard Choice to 8 Weeks. Saves created in previous versions should continue to work normally.
The current build of 8 Weeks covers the prologue and the first 21 in-game days, offering around 6–8 hours of story content for a standard playthrough. It includes over 7,000 dialogue blocks, more than 41,000 words of dialogue, 139 choice menus, 7 phone chat scenes, and 172 gallery video unlocks.
Players who replay choices and explore all 3 Day 20 routes can expect the total playtime to go considerably higher.

Compared with v0.2.3, v0.2.5 adds 2 new playable days, new story scenes, new choices, more relationship content, and a new side character unlock. It also adds 4 new instruction screens that appear when starting the game and can also be opened later from the menu.
This version also adds 2 new NSFW scenes: one tied to the Receptionist route and one focused on Gabi, both with related animations and gallery unlocks.
The current build of Hard Choice covers the prologue and the first 18 in-game days, offering around 4-6 hours of story content for a standard playthrough. It includes over 5,700 dialogue blocks, more than 32,000 words of dialogue, 102 choice menus, 7 phone chat scenes, and 91 gallery video unlocks.
Players who replay choices and explore alternate variants can expect the total playtime to go higher.
